It seems like only yesterday that we were wrapping up the BMX season but even as the hockey season is still underway, we traveled down to Lexington, VA for a massive Nationals series race called the Blue Ridge Nationals. It was held at the mind boggling Virginia Horse Center and we were able to camp a mere 100 yards from the arena that had been transformed into the race track. Each day, somewhere around 1,000 racers vied for top spot in their respective division. Additionally, the first day of racing was a World qualifier which upped the ante significantly.
While Ryder may not have performed the way he had hoped, he kept after it on all three days and it turned out to be a great experience for him. Having the RV right there gave us a home base and USABMX was live streaming the event so we could keep up with all the racing as it happened.
All in all, it was a great event and it only whetted our appetite for the RV season.
