Christmas Tree … 2014

Its hard to imagine that Christmas is already here. Our usual plan is to go tree shopping the weekend after Thanksgiving because the first few weekends in December are typically EDP mayhem.  We learned our lesson the first year we lived in Maryland when we couldn’t get a tree until 4 or 5 days before Christmas. Needles to say (get it?), tree selection was poor and we had little time to enjoy it once it was up.

This year we were in Raleigh for Thanksgiving so we couldn’t go as early as we would prefer but since mom and dad are in town, we pried ourselves out of bed the day after our 22 hour Saturday event extravaganza and trekked down to Friendship Christmas Tree Farm to fresh cut a tree like we have over the last few years.

The tree farm was packed to the gills on the blustery, but comfortable Sunday and upon speaking with one of the proprietors I learned that they were nearly out of trees already for the season and that would be their closing day. Thankfully after a grand tour of the property, we managed to find just the right tree. Albeit, a little smaller then what we have had in the past, its a great shape and will find a perfect place in our home.
