Last of the Pack

With great trepidation and sadness, we closed the chapter of the pack of four dogs recently when we said goodbye to our faithful, regal and affectionate pup, Angus. The only boy of the group for so long, he came to us with his adopted sister, Mattie who passed only a couple years ago. He loved his pack and his pack loved him… for his playfulness, warmth and goofiness. Add into that the sheer machine that he was.. .fast, athletic and powerful. His hunting instincts were unmatched and I believe given the opportunity he would have been a fantastic field dog. He loved to please and he could always hear in our voices, how proud we were of him. He loved his adventures and was always the first one in the car to head to the unexplored and sniff the campgrounds. He took care of his girls (and of course our boys) despite him truly not being the alpha in the pack. As his pack got smaller, we knew he needed continued companionship so we brought home Gunny after Luna passed and that brought new life to him. We saw once again how playful he was and it was always so entertaining to watch as his experience in the wrestling ring made up for agility the years may have taken from him.

Its time now to go play with your pack once again… sweet Angus.
