Seems like just the other day I was remodeling a different basement. No rest for the weary I guess.
One of the first major to-do items was create a play space for Ryder in the new house and with the new place having an almost unfinished basement, it offered the perfect space for it. So without much hesitation, I demoed the existing walls, and started defining some usable space down there. So weekend one, I demoed, re-plumbed the water purification system, framed, wired and hung drywall. I didn’t even think about doing this solo however and enlisted Buenaventura who had helped me on a couple other projects in the past. He framed and hung drywall with expert abandon leaving me to work out the layout, and systems related stuff.
Next week I’ll have him back to mud… cause we all know my feelings on mudding.
Then, floor, paint, trim, doors… move in. So Hopefully it’ll be wrapped up in another 2 weekends of work.
